Attached you will find the schedule for Advent and Christmas as we close out the calendar year 2024.
Of note, this year, The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed virgin Mary - even though it falls on a Monday, December 9 - will be a Holy Day of Obligation. As is our custom, we will add a 5:30 p.m. evening liturgy with music to the normal schedule.
Regarding our Christmas liturgies (December 24 and December 25), the only thing we can share with you is that it will "B" one not to miss. Here is a hint - it involves Fr. B. Okay, another hint - he will do what he does at the Easter Vigil. Okay, we have said too much.
The Dallas Marathon weekend is December 14 and 15. I will try to get more information as soon as possible, including road closures. Looks like Ross is the main street through downtown. (The Turkey Trot is on Thursday November 28th, but we will be closed on this day.)
For those who might be following news from the Vatican, here is a link to read up about the Jubilee Year 2025. "On December 24, 2024, Pope Francis will inaugurate the Jubilee Year 2025 with the opening of the Holy Doors at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, followed by those of the three other major basilicas in Rome. The Holy Year will conclude on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2026." The theme is Pilgrims of Hope.
Our appreciation for you and your support and commitment to St. Jude Chapel grows daily. Thank you so much for all you do for St. Jude Chapel and the community.
We cannot wait to see you during Advent or Christmas or in the New Year. And if you have family and friends visiting you, invite them to come along with you.
